Version of 28 October 2026. In plain English: what RES 2.0 keeps about you, why, where, for how
long, and what you can do about it.
Who runs RES 2.0
RES 2.0 is run by Martyn Markley (MM16), who decides how your information is used. For anything about your
information, email martynmarkley30@gmail.com.
What RES 2.0 keeps
Your account. Your username, your password only as a one-way scrambled digest that nobody can turn
back into the password, the note you wrote when asking for an account, when it was made and last used, what
you may do, and when you agreed to this notice.
Your profile. The skills and qualifications you choose, your model and your language.
Your papers. The text of each paper you add, split into passages, though not the file itself, with
every evaluation run, your own answers and notes, and your checklists.
Saved model answers for each paper, so the same paper is not sent to the model twice. These describe
the paper, not you.
In your browser, the sign-in session, so you stay signed in. Nothing else, and no tracking or
advertising cookies.
Why
To run your account and evaluate the papers you add, and to keep RES 2.0 secure. The legal basis is the
legitimate interest in running a service you asked to use, and your agreement to this notice.
Who else sees it
The AI services. To evaluate a paper, its text, your checklist and your profile's skills are sent
through Vento, the admin's own model engine, to the AI service that answers, currently Groq or Google Gemini,
which may be outside the UK. Their own terms apply, and on their free tiers they may keep what they are
sent, and Google may use it to improve its products. Only add published papers, never confidential or
unpublished work, or anything with people's personal details.
Microsoft Azure stores RES 2.0's records, in its UK South region.
Nobody else. Other users never see your papers, and your information is never sold or shared for
advertising.
How long
Everything is kept until you delete it or your account. Deleting a paper removes it and all its runs at
once. If the admin removes your account, everything of yours goes with it. Working copies inside the running
server vanish whenever it restarts.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can see the information kept about you, have it corrected, have it deleted,
and object to its use. Under ACCOUNT, DOWNLOAD MY DATA gives you a copy of everything, and
DELETE MY ACCOUNT removes your account, profile, checklists and papers at once. You can also complain
to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If this notice changes, you are shown the new version and asked to agree again when you next sign in.

Your skills
Add your qualifications, then tick the skills, tools and hardware you have. They are used only for
the build suggestions and the fit to your skills.
Qualifications
Users
Each user sees only their own papers, checklists and profile. Anyone may ask for an account from
the sign-in page, and it stays switched off until you approve it. Only you decide
what anyone else may do: PERMISSIONS ticks it for each person, with an end date if you like, and nobody but you
can hand out permissions or change your account.
